Artists in the making 🎨🏛️✨
In Year 6 Art, we learned that Brunelleschi designed Florence Cathedral and that Ghiberti created relief sculptures, including the famous Gates of Paradise 🚪✨.
Inspired by this, we designed our own relief tiles of Florence Cathedral 🖊️. This week, we modelled our designs using clay 🧱. We added details by cutting and drawing into the clay, and by adding clay using cross-hatching and slip 💧. We finished by smoothing the edges with tools and our fingers 👍.
Year 6 worked creatively and produced some fantastic tiles! 🌟🎉
