Year 6 Art Blog 🎨🏛️
This week in art, Year 6 learned about Victorian architecture and how architects often used styles from the past. We explored how the Houses of Parliament are influenced by both classical and gothic architecture, including symmetry, pointed arches, and detailed designs 🏰📐.
After learning about the building, we practised our drawing skills. We chose an important London landmark and drew it using lines only ✏️. We carefully copied shapes, thought about proportion, and used a variety of lines—thick, thin, straight, and curved—to add detail and texture ➖➰.
We really enjoyed this art learning and are very proud of our finished drawings! Can you recognise the buildings? 😊✨
