In Maths lessons this week, the children continued to work practically to explore partitioning, addition and subtraction facts of the teen numbers. Their confidence in number is improving day by day and the children are working hard to recall the key number facts they have learned. They love the mathematical quiz we have at the end of each lesson to check for understanding of key concepts, and the children are able to tell us what they notice or wonder from our 'hook it' opener which begins each maths lesson.
As part of our Forest Schools programme, our class are thoroughly enjoying taking their learning outside. The chill, damp and grey skies of late do not dampen their enthusiasm to discuss, explain, problem solve and work as a team in their Wild Space activities. The children learned how to tie knots to join things together this week, and they then used these in their own designing and making.
Next week the Year One children are looking forward to welcoming a special visitor into our classroom to recall and extend our history learning from last term....More news next week!
