It was so lovely to see many of our parents at our school's Easter Coffee Morning this week. Thank you for all the time and effort put in at home to help the children create some amazing Easter bonnets. The children absolutely loved parading these for all our visitors and singing our Year One song. We hope that you enjoyed it!
Our Easter Church Service was also brilliantly supported and the children's singing really was beautiful. They sang their hearts out and understood the importance of the Easter story to Christians all over the world.
Good behavior for learning is always rewarded at Elm and this time the children were able to dance away to a 'silent' disco in the hall on Friday. Our 'Pride in Elm' day is always enjoyed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your continued support for your child's learning this term. Please keep reading over the Easter break. As our children become more confident with their phonic reading skills, they are really beginning to see themselves as readers and to enjoy books.
I have enclosed some extra Sounds Write reading texts that link directly to the extended code knowledge that the children have been taught this term. Please enjoy sharing these with your children and also take some time to ask your child to read the real and 'alien' words also enclosed.
Have a wonderful Easter break.....and not too much chocolate Year One!
