We’ve had such a fab first week back in class — full of energy, curiosity and brilliant learning.

This week we launched our brand‑new English text, The Boy in the Tower, and the children are already hooked. The opening chapters have sparked lots of discussion, and we’re excited to see where the story takes us next.

Alongside this, we’ve begun our two‑week writing focus on Australia. We’ve been recapping key grammar skills — semicolons, colons and embedded clauses — and making sure our subject and object knowledge is secure. This will set us up beautifully to move on to active and passive voice later in the unit.

In Maths, the class has been smashing their work on converting between different units of measurement. Their confidence is growing every day, and it’s been great to see them tackling challenges with such determination. We’ve even squeezed in some extra recap sessions in the afternoons to keep everything fresh.

Our wider curriculum is looking exciting too. This term we are learning about:

  • New Zealand in Geography
  • The Industrial Revolution in History
  • Astronomy in Science

Don’t forget to check out our Knowledge Organiser above to see the key facts we’ll be mastering.

A brilliant start to the term — well done, everyone. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
