On Friday the children in Year One were very excited to have their PSHE lesson on the 'Life Education' bus that visited our school this week. The children were actively engaged in fun activities and discussion to extend their learning about how to take care of themselves. This included the importance of eating healthy food, getting a good night's sleep and drinking plenty of water to keep them hydrated.

When the children went on the bus in their Reception year, they loved meeting 'Harold the Giraffe', so they were very happy to meet him again in Year One! This time, Harold reminded the children of the importance of only taking medicines that are meant for them and under the supervision of their parents and carers. They also explored friendship and feelings, highlighting the importance of being kind and thoughtful to one another.

The children were in awe of the 'stars' coming out to twinkle above them in the bus, before their return to the classroom. Back in school they were able to discuss their learning with great knowledge and understanding.

In our PSHE lessons in recent weeks in school we have also explored the importance of both sun and water safety. Thank you for applying sunscreen for the children prior to the start of the school day as the weather warms up. Please also ensure that they have a sun hat in school daily.

The children have been learning this key message for when out and about near water with their families:
Stay
Away
From the
Edge
