This week we have learned about another type of story - Aesops fables. We discussed that fables are from a long time ago, possibly 2000 years ago. We focused on the Hare and the Tortoise story. Some children made masks and acted out the story, whilst others wrote speech bubbles and drew pictures. We know that each fable teaches us a different lesson. We also read the boy who cried wolf, the lion and the mouse and the fox and the crow.
In Maths we are exploring numbers 11-20 and beyond. Some children represented each number using Numicon. We explained how we know that 11 is ten and one, 12 is ten and two, and so on.
Role-play has been very popular this week. Outside we have had 'doctors and nurses' helping their patients in their hospital beds, while inside has become a hair salon. The wooden blocks outside also continue to be used in different ways each week. It is lovely to see how the children work together and think of new creative ways to use them. This week we had a train, taking us on a trip to London!
